April 3 – Protesters hold signs during a rally inside the Oklahoma State Capitol building. Hundreds of teachers filled the Capitol that week, demanding an additional $150 million in school funding and larger pay raises for themselves and support staff. They ended their walkout after nine days when there was “no significant legislative movement,” according to Alicia Priest, president of the state's largest teachers union. The teachers had already received raises before the walkout began, but the union said they weren't enough. Scott Heins/Bloomberg/Getty Images
