August 28 – Legendary singer Aretha Franklin lies in honor at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, which is in Detroit. Franklin, the “Queen of Soul” whose musical career spanned six decades, died in August at the age of 76. See her life in photos Paul Sancya/Reuters
