January 24 – People react in a Lansing, Michigan, courtroom as Rachael Denhollander, not pictured, speaks during the sentencing hearing of Larry Nassar, a former team doctor for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University. Nassar pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct and admitted to sexually assaulting and abusing young girls under the guise of providing medical treatment. Denhollander, a former gymnast, was the last of more than 150 women and girls that confronted him in court during his sentencing hearing.
